Services - Cats
When should you call a Cat Behaviourist?
Your cat shows behaviours that feel disruptive or out of step with your lifestyle. I can step in across many situations — whether one‑off, chronic, or emerging. For example:
- Out‑of‑litter eliminations, urine marking
- Aggressive behaviours (towards humans, other cats, or other animals)
- Excessive meowing
- Anxiety, fears, withdrawal, isolation
- Hyper‑attachment
- Destructive behaviours, inappropriate scratching
- Compulsive or stereotypic behaviours (over‑grooming, tail‑chasing…)
- Complicated cohabitation between cats
The Cat Behaviourist: a mediator between humans and cats
I help you understand your cat so you can live better together. If you’re feeling daily tension or a general “something’s wrong” without knowing how to act, your cat is likely trying to communicate with you.
As a Cat Behaviourist, I support you in:
- Decoding what your cat is expressing
- Understanding the causes of these behaviours
- Implementing concrete, respectful, and sustainable solutions aligned with your pace of life to reduce and resolve these issues
My approach: observation, listening, analysis, and clear recommendations. I focus on causes rather than consequences. Every human–cat duo is unique; there are no one‑size‑fits‑all solutions.
I help you restore a harmonious relationship with your cat through a respectful, kind approach based on ethology and animal well‑being.
What is a behavioural appraisal ?
A comprehensive study of your cat’s behaviour, environment, lifestyle, history, and interactions with you and any other members of the family. It follows four stages:
- Initial phone call to identify the issue.
- A 1h30–2h consultation at your home (or via visio if needed), in your own environment, including:
- A full analysis of the situation: lifestyle, interactions, history, routines, environment…
- A fine reading of feline communication (postures, body signals, vocalisations…)
- Identification of trigger factors and root causes
- Concrete recommendations you can apply day‑to‑day, taking your constraints into account
- Personalised follow‑up within 2 weeks after the session.
- Ongoing support for 3 months.
I work within a positive framework: no punishment, no coercion, always respecting your cat’s nature.
Special case: dog–cat cohabitation
More and more people live with both a dog and a cat. These two species aren’t naturally made to live together. It’s essential to consider fundamental differences in behaviour: communication styles and emotional needs. Trained in both canine and feline behaviour, I can help you prevent or resolve conflicts and build a quiet, safe daily life for all.
Why can cohabitation be difficult ?
Cats and dogs are very different:
The cat is more independent, and sensitive to change; he needs stability, calm, control of its environment, and safe, dedicated zones.
The dog is social and typically more demonstrative, often curious — even intrusive — when faced with a newcomer. They may read a cat’s signals as play, threat, or challenge.
These differences can generate:
- Misunderstandings, with one species’ postures contradicting the other’s
- Fear or aggression from the cat (flight, scratching, isolation, marking)
- Excessive behaviours from the dog (over‑excitement, predation, barking, focus on the cat)
- A lot of stress for one or both, impacting overall well‑being
What the support includes
- Individual appraisal of the dog and the cat
- Analysis of the living conditions
- Step‑by‑step cohabitation plan
- Personalised follow‑up
Benefits
Progressive cohabitation that respects each species’ rhythm
Less stress; prevention or reduction of unwanted behaviours (marking, barking, chasing) and fewer conflicts through better mutual understanding

This preventive service helps you anticipate changes and preserve harmony.
Living with a cat means living with a sensitive animal who needs reassuring routines and strong reference points. Everyday events — perfectly normal to us — can be deeply stressful for a cat if not prepared with care. Coaching helps you anticipate change, safeguard your companion’s emotional balance, and prevent any problematic behaviours (elimination issues, stress, aggression, withdrawal…).
Why anticipate?
Cats show remarkable flexibility if we give them time, space, and the right conditions. Sudden changes to their habits can trigger stress and anxiety.
In which situations?
Here are a few examples where I can support you:
Case 1: You are expecting a baby
A new baby deeply change the home’s atmosphere, rhythm, and smells. These can generate anxiety, avoidance, or — conversely — excessive bids for attention.
Case 2: You are adopting a cat (or kitten)
Adoption is delicate, the cat is leaving the place he has been used to and you are welcoming a new individuel in you day to day life. The goal is to establish a secure, lasting bond between you and your cat.
Case 3: A new animal joins the home (dog, cat, small pets…)
The cat is a solitary species; cohabitation does not happen by accident. A poor introduction can lead to lasting stress.
Case 4: You are moving house
New home, new smells, new noises, new people sometimes — for a cat, it’s a complete change of habits and environment.
Tailor‑made support
This preventive approach helps you avoid common mistakes. As a Cat Behaviourist, I guide you step‑by‑step through each transition. A coaching session is a personalised consultation that lets you:
- Prepare the environment and routines so they remain reassuring
- Limit stress linked to novelty
- Favour gradual, positive introductions (new human or new animal)
- Above all, preserve the bond of trust between you and your cat

Heading off for a holiday, a weekend, or even just a long workday? I come to your home to take care of your cat.
Cats are deeply attached to their routines. Unlike many dogs, they rarely experience travel as an adventure but more often as a source of anxiety. Changing a cat’s environment (boarding, staying with friends, unfamiliar places) can lead to disorientation, stress, anxiety, withdrawal, or unwanted behaviours.
That’s why home catsitting is the best solution to respect their needs.
Before any first catsitting : a preparatory visit is mandatory
To ensure a smooth, customised service, I always start with a home visit to:
- Get to know each other
- Introduce myself to your cat and begin first contact
- Define their specific needs
- Set care instructions together (food, medication, access, desired interactions…)
- Confirm practical details (contract, keys, visit length and frequency, communication…)
A quality service, based on ethics and respect for cats
As a Cat Behaviourist and professional catsitter, I provide far more than topping up bowls. Each visit is designed to ensure:
- Maintenance of your cat’s reference points and habits (rhythm, feeding, interactions, resting places)
- A clean, safe environment (litter care, cleaning soiled areas, checking access points)
- An attentive presence adapted to their temperament: for some, play; for others, a calm shared moment — or discreet respect if the cat is shy.
A professional eye is watching in your absence. I adapt my approach to your pet’s rhythm, preferences, and emotional needs.
Personalised service, according to your needs
I offer:
- Daily visits (30 to 60 minutes, depending on the chosen option)
- Extended custody or multiple visits per day if needed
- Specific care for senior, sensitive, or medicated cats
Every visit includes a report with photo(s) or video, sent by message or email, so you can stay connected to your pet.
My catsitting is ethical, professional, and kind — designed for your cat’s comfort and your peace of mind.
